Council of Ministers meeting

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz today chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, and briefed the cabinet on the outcome of talks he held recently with Emir of the State of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al-Khalifa concerning bilateral relations between the two countries and the overall international situation.

The cabinet also discussed last week's United Nations Millennium Summit in New York, which Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz attended on behalf of King Fahd.
Turning to the meeting of the oil ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the cabinet praised the spirit of cooperation that prevailed, and the agreement to increase oil production by 800,000 bpd in order to curb price increases, hoping thereby to realize stability for the benefit of both oil producers and oil consumers throughout the world.
