Official statement on new bomb blast in Eastern Province

The Interior Ministry issued a statement today that around 8:45 p.m. on the evening of Friday, December 15, 2000, a British national was seriously injured by a blast from a booby trapped fruit juice carton attached to his car's front windscreen. The man, an employee of the Al-Olayan Beverage Company in the Eastern Province, was rushed to the nearest hospital with serious injuries, mainly to his right hand, where his condition was reported as stable. His wife was not injured. Security measures were immediately taken and investigations are under way.
