Prince Sultan holds talks with Chineses officials

Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin

Abdulaziz was received yesterday by President of the People's Republic of China Jiang Zemen, and then

held talks with his counterpart General Chi Haw Tian. Following the meeting, Prince Sultan told reporters

that no military matters were being discussed during these talks, which are focussing on medical,

educational, and social issues. In response to a question, he praised China's policy towards the Palestinian

crisis as rational, moderate, positive and impartial. Confirming the positive relations that exist between the

two countries, he indicated increased economic cooperation as a result of the Kingdom's new investment

environment.
