Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz yesterday received visiting President of China Jiang Zemin.  The reception was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and a number of princes and officials. King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah were both at King Khalid International Airport earlier yesterday to welcome President Zemin to Riyadh on a state visit to the Kingdom, the first by a Chinese president. The President's delegation includes the Deputy Chairman of the Council of State, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the State Commission for Development and Planning, the Minister of Commerce and Economic Cooperation, and the President's special advisor.

Meanwhile, Minister of Information Dr. Fouad Bin Abdulsalam Al-Ffarsi and Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jia Xuan have signed two agreements, one for cooperation in radio and television, and the other between the Saudi Press Agency and the Chinese News Agency Xinhua.  Also, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khaled Al-Angary and the Chinese foreign minister signed an educational cooperation agreement between the two countries.
Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Chinese Minister for Commerce Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng endorsed a report of the Saudi-Chinese task force. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi and the Chinese Minister of Commerce and Economic Cooperation signed a memorandum of understanding on petroleum cooperation between the Kingdom and China.
Today, President Zemin received separately at his guest residence in Riyadh Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, and Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jameel Bin Ibrahim Al-Hujeilan. He also received members of the Saudi-Chinese Friendship Society, representatives of Chinese companies, and the staff of the Chinese Embassy.
