Around 14,000 Muslims gathered yesterday at the expo center in Chantilly in Northern Virginia for prayers, food and fun at celebrations for the Eid Al-Fitr. The aim of the event was to create a family atmosphere where people can enjoy themselves and spend time with family-members and friends.

Meanwhile, on Monday, January 18, Muslims celebrated the first day of Eid at mosques and Islamic Centers in a number of cities all over the United States. In Washington DC, Eid prayers were performed at the area's many mosques as well as at the Islamic Center on Massachusetts Avenue.
