Number of Telephone Lines Increasing Rapidly

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia now has a total of 3.1 million telephone lines. There are more than half a million cellular and about 16,000 mobile telephones, 4,800 telex lines, and 730,000 pagers. The country's 210 telephone exchanges include five international exchanges in each of the three main cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. The Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) also provides services to over 450 centers in rural areas.
