Prince Sultan patronizes Madinah Centennial celebrations

Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General, yesterday patronized the centennial celebrations organized in Madinah.  During the ceremonies it was announced that Prince Sultan had donated SR 5 million (U.S. $ 1.3 million) to the Madinah Center for Research and Studies, and another SR 5 million (U.S. $ 1.3 million) to various charitable organizations in the area. In his speech, Prince Sultan declared that Madinah is cherished because the light of knowledge towards guidance by Almighty God began here. He praised Governor of Madinah Province Prince Abdulmajeed Bin Abdul Aziz for his efforts to develop the area. Addressing doubts about the Kingdom's development and pessimism at the Saudi economy, Prince Sultan stated:  "We do not respond to anyone who is envious or who wishes us ill will;  what we are interested in is pleasing God and satisfying the citizens."   He remarked that he was still of the opinion that the two greatest achievements of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz have been the expansion of the two holy mosques and the liberation of Kuwait.
