Britain's Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and his accompanying delegation left Riyadh today after a short visit. He attended a reception yesterday evening given in his honor by Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz, after inaugurating the exhibition 'Bin Saud through British Eyes' organized by Her Britannic Majesty's Embassy in Riyadh in collaboration with the King Abdul Aziz Center and the British Council on the occasion of the centennial of the event that led to the founding of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sattam underscored the importance of the exchange of visits by Saudi and British officials, saying Saudi-British relations are based on principles of mutual respect.

For his part, Prince Philip conveyed greetings from his wife Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and to the Saudi people on the occasion of the centennial. He highlighted the close relations that exist between the two countries, and expressed happiness at the visit, his eighth to the Kingdom.
Earlier, Prince Philip paid a visit to the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura), where he was received by its Chairman, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Jubeir and other members of the council.
