Consumer imports on the rise

It was announced today that the volume of the Kingdom's imports of consumer and luxury goods amounted to SR 29.5 billion (U.S. $ 7.9 billion) in the third quarter of 1998, an increase of 15.2 percent compared to the figure of the same period in 1997.   The imports included electronics, cars, foodstuffs, and metal and chemical products.
