The Supreme Judicial Council has announced that the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan will be on Thursday, December 9, 1999. Since no report was received on a sighting of the crescent of the Holy Month of Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, December 7, 1999, tomorrow, Wednesday December 8 will be the 30th day of the month of Shaban of the year 1420, and subsequently Thursday, December 9 will be the first day of Ramadan of the year 1420.
