The solar eclipse as viewed from Riyadh was gradual and never complete.  Nevertheless,

crowds of people gathered in mosques to perform the eclipse prayer as instructed by the

Prophet Muhammad fourteen centuries ago. The eclipse began at 13:50 local time, and reached

its zenith at 15:10, vanishing at 16:20.  Saudi Television recorded the entire event.
