The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today categorically denied a report that it is financially

supporting the Chechen rebels in Russia.  Agence France Presse (AFP) reported on Saturday

that an official of the Russian intelligence authority had claimed that Saudi Arabia is

among Arab and Islamic countries he said were financing the Islamic rebels in the area of

Chechnya.  This claim is totally false.
