The Saudi soccer club Al-Shabab beat the Syrian army soccer team 2-0 in Cairo yesterday to
win the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Cup in the 15th Arab Clubs Championship. This is the second
time since 1992 that Al-Shabab has been the champion. The match was attended by President
of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, who also
attended a ceremony staged by the Arab Football Federation and the Arab Sports Federation
honoring the late Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz for his service to Arab sports. Meanwhile, Prince Sultan Bin Fahd has issued a directive appointing Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal
Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, and of the
Saudi Football Federation.
