Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz today received visiting U.S.

Secretary of Defense William Cohen. The audience was attended by Deputy Prime Minister,

Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Saudi

Ambassador to the United States Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, U.S. Ambassador to

Saudi Arabia Wyche Fowler, and other Saudi and American officials. Secretary Cohen is on an

official two-day visit to the Kingdom.

Earlier, Prince Sultan held talks with Secretary Cohen. Speaking on the occasion, Prince

Sultan said that Saudi-American relations go back to the era of King Abdul Aziz and U.S.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt and noted that the two countries were allies in the Gulf

War for the sake of enhancing the pillars of peace and international legitimacy.
