The 10th ministerial meeting of the regional council for protection of marine life, comprising those officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states who are in charge of environmental affairs, concluded yesterday, having drawn up a working program for the next two years. The program includes establishing a satellite-linked data network for marine life in the Gulf, setting up well-equipped training and emergency centers that are prepared to tackle possible oil spills in Gulf waters, and holding joint GCC workshops.
