Prince Nayef interviewed by Kuwaiti newspaper

Minister of the Interior Prince Nayef Ibn Abdul Aziz, in an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Siyasah published today, stated that cooperation among Arab countries in the fight against terrorism has borne fruit, adding that one aspect of this relates to drying up its ideological sources. Prince Nayef went on to point out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been able to successfully contain vast movements of people, since thirty thousand visitors enter the Kingdom daily, and hundreds of thousands of expatriates reside in the country.

Prince Nayef reported that the GCC interior ministers, who are currently meeting in Kuwait, are seeking ways to ease movement of individuals and travelers between GCC countries, adding that there is a real need for improvement in this area. This is especially true since in the future there will be an increase in the flow because of the many tourist resorts in the Kingdom and in other GCC countries.
Referring to terrorist incidents in the Kingdom, Prince Nayef stated that just as happened following the Riyadh explosion, an official announcement will in due course be made concerning the Al-Khobar incident.
Touching on the Saudi-Yemeni border issue, he said that what has been distributed in the mass media does not project the true atmosphere of the current negotiations between the Kingdom and Yemen, adding that the leaderships of the two countries are fully aware of the importance of their friendly relations.
