New TV Channel proposed for GCC states

The Kuwait-based Al-Watan newspaper today reported that arrangements are underway for the establishment of a company with a capital of thirty million Kuwaiti Dinar and stockholders from all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, for the purpose of undertaking transmission of a new television channel to be located in Dubai, with the administration offices in Kuwait.   The company will operate in collaboration with an American company specializing in satellite television.  The new channel is scheduled to start in June 1998.
