Six new technical colleges planned

The General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT) is planning to establish six new technical colleges in Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Jizan, Baha and Najran, at a total cost of SR 300 million (U.S. $ 80 million).  The new colleges will have state-of-the-art facilities and help upgrade the quality of training to meet local labor market demand for highly skilled manpower.  The contract for the blueprints and designs for the colleges was signed with the private Riyadh-based engineering firm of Al-Askar at a cost of about SR 5.4 million (U.S. $ 1.44 million).
