Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz today chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, and repeated his congratulations to the Muslim world on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He urged all Muslims to grasp this opportunity to cooperate with each other, declaring that the Muslim world is currently in need of solidarity, coherence and cooperation, more than at any previous time.

Information Minister Dr. Fuad Ibn Abdelsalam Al-Farsi reported that King Fahd went on to review reports on the progress of work in a number of ministries and government departments and urged greater efforts to make easier the daily lives of citizens and expatriates. The cabinet then adopted a number of decisions including approval of an agreement to set up a desert locust control commission in the central region of the Kingdom, and of another delegating the Ministry of Education and the General Presidency for Girls' Education to collaborate with the private sector for the construction of school buildings.
