Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz today presided over the regular

weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which urged Eritrea and Ethiopia to yield to reason,

avert the continuation of armed confrontation, and start dialogue in the interest of both countries to solve their dispute in peaceful ways. Reviewing the latest regional and international developments, the cabinet also appealed to the world community to shoulder its responsibilities towards Serb brutality against Muslims in Kosovo. Information Minister Dr. Fuad Ibn Abdulsalam Al-Farsi reported that the cabinet strongly denounced the aggressive practices of the Serbian forces against Muslims in Kosovo, and reminded the world of what they did in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Dr. Al-Farsi reported that King Fahd reiterated the Kingdom's concern to promote unified Arab action and to realize continuing consultation among Arab countries to cope with the current circumstances. To this effect, the council expressed satisfaction at the positive outcome of the visits last week of Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, to the Arab Republic of Syria and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. King Fahd also briefed the cabinet on his talks with visiting Premier of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif which aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries. The cabinet went on to discuss the need for peace and stability to prevail in

both South Asia and the Middle East based on justice and credibility and not on double-standard policies.
Turning to domestic matters, the cabinet issued a number of resolutions, including authorization for the Chairman of the Civil Defense to discuss with the Qatari side a draft agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar regarding overseas air transportation services, and authorization for the Interior Minister or his deputy to discuss with the Hungarian side a draft agreement for security cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Hungary in the field of combating terrorism, organized crime and illegal trade of drugs.
