Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, have sent a message to President of the Republic of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh.  The message, which deals with issues and matters of mutual concern, primarily the efforts to solve the border issue, was handed over today by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal, who was in Sana'a for talks with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdul-Qader Bajamal.

At a joint press conference with Minister Bajamal before leaving Yemen, Prince Saud announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen had agreed upon the basis for adjusting the situation in a way that guarantees the interests of both countries with no harm to either of them.   He expressed satisfaction at the agreement of the two parties, and indicated that these measures were designed to push forward efforts for a final solution as well as preventing a repetition of recent incidents.  He stated that the border demarcation committee would meet soon to finish its task.
Referring to the Omani-Yemeni border agreement, Prince Saud explained that the Kingdom's stand is not rejection of that agreement, but rather commentary arising from its interest in the borders of all three countries.  He cited the protest that Saudi Arabia received from Yemen at the time the Kingdom signed a border agreement with the Sultanate of Oman, saying this protest was considered merely as a memorandum that the interests of Yemen must be taken into consideration.
