King Fahd in good health after minor procedure

The King Fahd Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh has issued a medical press release stating that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz  successfully completed the required medical tests and that the results are satisfactory. Following a checkup on Monday August 3, 1998, a subphrenic abscess in the abdominal cavity caused by diverticulosis was successfully drained under local anesthesia, without complication. No surgical intervention was needed. King Fahd's general medical condition is good, and he will spend only a few days in the hospital.
