Saudi TV to begin Centennial programming

tarting Sunday, August 23, both channels of Saudi Television will start telecasting special programs for the celebration of the centenary of the event that led to the founding of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The celebrations are scheduled to last for one full year. The telecasts will include competitions, highlights of citizens' comments, interviews with prominent Gulf, Arab and Islamic personalities, poetry sessions, and coverage of centennial celebrations at Saudi embassies overseas, as well as memoirs about the Kingdom's founder King Abdul Aziz and reviews of the country's history, culture and heritage.
