Saudi-Yemeni border committee issues statement
The Saudi-Yemeni border demarcation committee ended its 12th round of talks in Sana'a yesterday by issuing a joint press statement, saying:

"Within the framework of the directives of the two political leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen; in implementation of a report of the joint higher committee dated June 30, 1998; and in accordance with what was agreed upon by the interior ministers of the two brotherly countries on November 24, 1998, the Saudi-Yemeni Joint Committee for Border Demarcation held its 12th round of talks from December 6 to 8, 1998, during which it agreed to examine and compare field surveys, effective from February 2, 1999, on a number of results of border demarcation that were stated in the borders reports attached to Al-Taif Agreement."
