Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi, currently in Washington DC as part of the delegation accompanying Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, has exchanged views with U.S. Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson on the American petroleum market and the role being played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a secure and reliable source for oil supplies. He reports that the talks covered issues pertaining to joint projects both inside and outside the Kingdom. When Crown Prince Abdullah met with Secretary Richardson yesterday, their talks highlighted the strategic relations that exist between Saudi Arabia and the United States, and Minister Al-Naimi said this was confirmed during his own meeting with Secretary Richardson, who will be visiting the Kingdom in three months’ time.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance and National Economy Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf has commented on the success of the Crown Prince’s visit, noting that many important topics were reviewed including aspects of technical cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Saudi-American Joint Commission.
