Prince Sultan meets with Pope John Paul II

Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General, today met with Pope John Paul II, who asked him to convey greetings from the Vatican to Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz.   The meeting was attended by Prince Faisal Ibn Saud Ibn Muhammad Al-Saud and Prince Faisal Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz as well as by Prince Muhammad Ibn Nawaf Ibn Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Italy.  Prince Sultan is on a state visit to Italy, and was received by the Pope at his summer residence of Castle Gandolfo, where they exchanged cordial talks and reviewed the Middle East problem, particularly the importance of the implementation of agreements signed between the Palestinians and the Israelis.  They also discussed the efforts being exerted to realize peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and called for peaceful co-existence of all ethnic communities in the former Yugoslavia.
