Shura Council meeting

The Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) held its weekly meeting today under the chairmanship of Secretary-General Dr. Hamoud Al-Badr, and after a briefing by the committee on Islamic affairs, approved the International Agreement on Racial Discrimination, with the reservation of excluding any article which is in contradiction with Islamic shari'ah or the basic system of governance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The council also approved the agreement signed by the Kingdom and the Republic of Germany concerning the promotion and protection of investments, together with its attached protocol.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Shura Council Sheikh Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Jubeir and his accompanying delegation left today for New Delhi on an official visit to India in response to an invitation from the speaker of the Indian parliament.
