Saudi Arabia sends aid to Iran for quake victims

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz yesterday ordered two planes carrying tents, blankets, carpets, food and medical supplies to head for the northeastern part of Iran that was damaged in the earthquake, immediately after hearing about the disaster and sending a cable of condolence to Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani. Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Sultan also sent cables. Today Health Minister Dr. Osama Shobokshi reported that in accordance with King Fahd's directives, more than eight tons of relief assistance are ready to be sent to Iran. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has urged all member states to extend urgent relief assistance to Iran.
