The Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) held its regular weekly session today under the chairmanship of Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Jubair, and, following a debate on a report by the ad hoc committee for education, culture and information concerning the annual reports of the University of King Faisal (KFU), and the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KAACST), recommended that all reports submitted to the council by any government body be up-to-date, comprehensive, and include all aspects, negative and positive, in compliance with the council's system. The council also approved an agreement for the prevention of duplication of taxation between the transport establishments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka, according to a recommendation by the ad hoc committee for economic and financial affairs. It also approved amendments introduced by the World Postal Union concerning the charters of the Washington Conference, upon a recommendation from the PTT Ministry. The meeting was attended by a number of guests invited by the council, including editors-in-chief and representatives of newspapers within the framework of the council's plan to make citizens acquainted with the Shura council's deliberations.
