SAA plane lands mistakenly at military airport

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) today reported that one of their planes, a Boeing 747, landed at Timberam Military Airport, mistaking it for Madras Airport, while on a regular flight from Dhahran to Madras. The captain attributed what happened to the similarity of the landing runways at both airports, and to the fact that they are only seven miles apart. SAA immediately coordinated with the Indian authorities to disembark the passengers, facilitate their arrival procedures and transport them to Madras.
