Prince Sultan speaks on Environment Day

Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General, who is also Chairman of the Ministerial Council for the Environment, today made a speech to mark the international day of the environment on June 5 and spotlighted Saudi Arabia's positive and effective contribution to regional and international forums on environmental issues. Prince Sultan praised the efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz to develop a domestic strategy for the protection of the Kingdom's natural resources and wildlife. Outlining its main features, including its principles and foundations aimed at conservation and the development of wildlife as well as rationalization of the country's natural resources, he said that this policy stems from Islamic teachings which recommend optimum utilization of natural resources and protection of the environment.
