Oil minister reports high reserves of minerals

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi has issued a report on the availability of mineral reserves, saying that in the northern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia there are about 213 million metric tons of phosphate ore;  in Wadi Al-Sawawin, to the north of Jeddah, 390 metric tons of iron ore;  at Al-Khuneikiya, about 2 million metric tons of zinc and copper ore; and in Qassim Province, reserves of bauxite amounting to 173 million metric tons.   The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources urges Saudi investors and specialized international companies to invest their capital in these mining projects.
