Hajj minister announces ban on gas cylinders

Minister of Pilgrimage Dr. Mahmoud Safar announced today that royal approval had been granted to proposals presented by the Higher Committee for the Hajj Pilgrimage headed by Interior Minister Prince Nayef Ibn Abdul Aziz, concerning strict prohibition during the upcoming Hajj of using gas cylinders for the purpose of cooking.  This ban is in effect for Mina and the other holy places.  Cooking by gas will be allowed outside these areas.   All relevant organizations have been notified of this ban, which is in line with the Kingdom's concern for improving the services extended to pilgrims.  Dr. Safar urged all those who are planning to perform Hajj to take into account all safety measures and to adhere to all the regulations set in this respect.
