Saudi Arabia endorses chemical weapons pact

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has endorsed the international pact for the ban of chemical weapons, delivering the necessary documents last Friday to the Secretary General of the United Nations.  The convention, which bans the development, production, storage and use of all chemical weapons, was signed on January 13, 1993 in Paris, and since then 160 countries have endorsed it.  The agreement has paved the way for the establishment of an Organization Against Chemical Weapons, the headquarters of which is under construction in The Hague, Netherlands.
