New U.S. Ambassador arrives in Riyadh

The newly-appointed Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Wyche Fowler Jr., arrived today in Riyadh to assume his post.  Ambassador Fowler, who was born in 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Davidson University in 1962, has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 1986.  Prior to that, he practiced law in Atlanta for eight years before being elected to the city council.
