Kingdom sponsors new hospital in Yemen

Within the framework of the current visit to Yemen by HRH Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General, who has personally gifted to it a complete kidney transplant unit, the Hajjah Hospital in Sanaa was opened yesterday.  It was built at a cost of SR 50 million (U.S. $ 13.3 million), paid for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The opening ceremony was attended by Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Osama Shobokshi and his Yemeni counterpart Dr Najib Saeed Ghanim.   The 50-bed hospital has the potential to enhance its in-patient capacity to 100, and is fully equipped with advanced health facilities.  In addition to medical and surgical wards, it contains an administrative building, housing complex, mosque, kitchen, and restaurant.  It will have a staff of 300 physicians, technicians, paramedics and administrators.
