Saudi Arabia plans for Centennial celebration

Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Province and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Centennial of the Founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced today that a celebration will be held in two years’ time to mark the hundredth anniversary [in the Hijra calendar] of the entrance of King Abdul Aziz into Riyadh [in 1902].   This celebration will be dedicated to the historical cohesion between the Saudi leadership and the people based on profound belief in the Islamic faith.  Plans include the re-issue of Arabic and Islamic books published by King Abdul Aziz.   The annual cultural and heritage festival at Jenadriyah will in that year be wholly devoted to this topic, and all citizens have been asked to contribute to the noble objectives of the centennial celebration.
