Saudi Arabia supports OIC

The Ministry of Finance and National Economy has announced that the financial support extended by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and its affiliates amounted to nearly SR 3 billion (U.S. $ 800 million) up to the end of 1992, adding that the Kingdom spares no effort in enhancing its relations with fraternal Muslim countries.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi yesterday delivered the Kingdom’s address at the 5th session of the permanent OIC Information and Cultural Affairs Committee in Dakar, Senegal.   Dr. Al-Farsi described Senegalese President Abdou Diouf as a sincere Muslim leader and stressed his efforts to boost the success of the meetings of the committee, which has already adopted a Muslim Information Strategy and drawn up a formula for a charter of honor for Islamic media.  He also praised the television program for teaching Arabic as a foreign language, and the efforts exerted by the Islamic Broadcasting Organization (ISBO) and the International Islamic News Agency (IINA).
