Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli air raids on Lebanon

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh today stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses deep anxiety over the Israeli air raids on Lebanon, saying:  “These air raids carried out by the Israeli planes constitute violation of the sovereignty of Lebanon and defiance of international legitimacy in line with Resolution 425 issued by the UN Security Council, which calls on Israel to unconditionally withdraw from Lebanese territory.   Continuation of the Israeli raids on Lebanon would escalate the turmoil and violence at a time when the Kingdom is looking for realization of a comprehensive and just peace throughout the region”.    The Foreign Ministry official confirmed the Kingdom’s support of Lebanon and reiterated that Lebanon has the right to defend its territories and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
