Council of Ministers meeting

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz yesterday presided over the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers and briefed them on the Kingdom’s views and positions on major regional, Arab, Islamic and international developments which have occurred in the last few days, including his consultations and meetings with Arab leaders such as Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, and the visit of U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry.

Information Minister Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi reported that King Fahd reiterated the Kingdom’s concern to continue its sincere efforts to help solve various issues, notably the Middle East Peace Process, saying that Saudi Arabia will never deviate from the firm basis of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah in its relations with its brothers and its friends.   King Fahd further stated that the Kingdom will continue to exert its utmost efforts towards the achievement of a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, within the framework of international legitimacy.
