Crown Prince Abdullah inspects site of Riyadh explosion

At 1:30 p.m. local time, HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, First Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, inspected the site of the explosion that took place in Riyadh earlier today.

Prince Abdullah expressed satisfaction with the measures being taken by the competent agencies, following a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom Ray Mabus and General Larry Smith, Director of the National Guard Development Program, whom he asked to convey to President Clinton and the families of the victims, his own and the condolences of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.   Prince Abdullah wished those injured in the blast a speedy recovery.

On their part, the U.S. Ambassador and General Smith expressed appreciation for the condolences, saying: “We will not allow such an incident to affect us or the performance of our duties wherever we may be”.

The Crown Prince was accompanied by Prince Badr Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Commander of the National Guard;  H.E. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Tuweijri, Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard;  HRH Prince (General) Moutab Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Commander of the Military Forces of the National Guard and Commander of King Khaled Military Academy;  HRH Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Saud;  and H.E. Abdul Mohsen Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Tuweijri, Advisor at the office of the Crown Prince.
