Agreement signed on improvement of King Fahd Industrial Port

November 10, 2008

Saudi Port Authority President Khaled Bubshait signed an agreement yesterday with the Huta-Hegerfeld Company to implement the third phase of construction on the King Fahd Industrial Port.

The project involves building more wharfs, adding greater oil storage capacity and deepening piers. These improvements will increase handling capacity, creating Saudi Arabia’s first port with the ability to handle the world’s largest oil tankers.

The King Fahd Industrial Port is the only industrial port on the Red Sea and the longest in the Middle East.
