King Abdullah arrives in New York

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz arrived in New York yesterday to attend a special UN conference on dialogue November 12-13.  

The UN conference is a follow-up to the World Conference on Dialogue, which was held on the initiative of King Abdullah in Madrid this past July.

The King was greeted at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Saudi officials including Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Saud bin Khalid, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Prince Muhammad bin Nayef, and Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel A. Al-Jubeir.

Also yesterday, King Abdullah spoke with President-elect Barack Obama. During the telephone conversation, they discussed Saudi-US relations.

While in the United States, King Abdullah will also participate in the G-20 economic summit in Washington November 14-15.

The royal delegation to the US includes Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Royal Adviser Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz and chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz.
