Hajj terminal opens at King Abdulaziz Airport

The Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jiddah opened yesterday with scores of overseas flights arriving with thousands of pilgrims, the Arab News reported today.


The first to arrive at the terminal was an Air India flight with 166 pilgrims from India’s northeastern city of Guwahati. In all, nine Indian Hajj flights arrived with 2,600 pilgrims.

A total of 168,000 pilgrims from India will perform the Hajj this year. An average of twelve flights per day will transport about 3,600 pilgrims from seventeen Indian cities until November 16.
